Derlite's vision is to be the preferred supplier of gas ignition systems to all the manufacturers of gas stoves, boilers, heaters, and other gas appliances throughout the world.

This vision will be achieved by providing our customers with well designed, consistent quality, cost effective products in a timely manner, thus allowing them to produce and supply energy efficient appliances for cooking and heating to the people of the world.

QUALITY

Gas ignition systems are a critical element of gas appliances. The combination of gas and spark creates an opportunity for explosion; therefore it is critical that products are well designed and manufactured exactly to specification using correctly specified raw materials.

Derlite's quality management system is certified to comply with the ISO9001:2008 standard and is regularly audited for compliance. Derlite's quality systems exceed the requirements of ISO9001 in many areas in order to provide a top quality products and service in line with automotive standards.

Derlite's operates an environmental management system which has been independently certified and is regularly audited so that our customers and business partners can take full confidence that all our activities consider the best interests of the environment.

Derlite recognizes the importance of protecting the environment and complies with all relevant environmental legislation and other relevant requirements. Derlite is committed to its environmental objectives and targets, preventing pollution and continually improving.

RoHS compliant

To ensure Derlite products can be safely be disposed of at their end of life, they comply with the RoHS requirements which ensures they do not contain the hazardous substances Lead, Hexavalent chromium, Mercury, Polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), Cadmium and Deca BDE.

Eco-design compliant

Derlite products comply with the eco-design requirements ensuring our products consider the environment by choosing materials which are environmentally friendly, reducing excess usage of material and packaging and ensuring the power consumption of electrical equipment is as low as practical and meets relevant power consumption legislation.

REACH compliant

To limit the use of hazardous chemical and substances, Derlite complies with the REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemical substances) requirements.

HISTORY

Derlite has its beginnings in Cornwall, United Kingdom. This company, established in 1969, manufactured specialist igniters (spark electrodes) using material sourced in the United Kingdom. In 2002 the business was relocated to Thailand.

In 2005 the gas ignition systems division of Kigass Electronics, also based in the UK, was added. As well as spark electrodes, Kigass has over a number of years, developed and produced electronic spark generators together with other electronic gas sensing equipment. This operation was transferred to Thailand and merged with Derlite during 2006.

Also in 2006 Derlite began manufacturing specialist gas boiler and heater electrodes on behalf of Gasignition Ltd a UK company previously known as Buccleuch Engineering of Scotland.
